This week, the column introduces us to newcomer Nadhira, tells us about the goings on and upcoming hip hop events about town, and new sites you may want to check out.

Artist Feature:  Nadhira 

Relatively popular Nadhira is a singer songwriter who's working on her first album. Here, she gives us a brief insight as to who she is, what she likes and one of two idiosyncracies that she has.

Q: So, what are you busy with now?
A: Right now, I'm working on tracks that I plan to use for my first CD release. I'm also in the midst of planning a video shoot - currently looking for the right people to work with and make them part of the team.

Q: Now that you're an artiste yourself, can you comment on the challenges Malaysian artistes face if they hoped to break into the international scene?
A: It's all about being different. You need to be different from the other acts if you hope to be noticed. Zee Avi - our first young-indie artiste who has been able to make that breakthrough - is a fine example.

Q: What songs are you currently tuned in to?
A: I am listening to a lot of AYO these days. She's an afro-german singer songwriter. Writes from the heart and speaks through her soul. I feel her music. You should check out her album JOYFUL.

Q: Any particular idiosyncracies?
A: I have this weird fascination for candles and I love chocolates.
