Benefit's Benetint
Some women brush on a little blush on their cheeks but end up looking feverish instead of fabulous. Worse still, look like Bozo the clown. Then there are those who always look like they've got punched in the eye every time they sweep on eyeshadow.
While some women feel that they're cosmetically-challenged let it be known that there are now numerous products in the market that go on easy yet give that perfect end-result.
The most inventive of all has got to be the all-over colour stick that can be had from most labels from the high-street Silky Girl to the exclusive Yves Saint Laurent.
In a thick, pencil form, this make-up item can be used on the lips, cheeks and eyes. One or two slicks on the lips and you've got colour on your smackers. One swish from the outer lid to the inner corner, and a swoosh back again, your peepers are instantly pretty. To give colour on cheeks, just draw one line on each cheek and smudge with your finger pads.
Another all-in-one product that not many (in Malaysia at least) are aware of its convenience is the bronzer. While not many local women want to look tan, new-generation bronzers go almost anywhere: on eyelids, cheeks, forehead and jawline.
If you have a wide forehead, you can use a bronzer to create the illusion of a narrow forehead. All you need to do is brush on the bronzer close to the hairline. And, to give the look of a prominent jawline, sweep on the bronzer along each jawbone.
Iridescence and translucence hold the key to goof-proof lipsticks. The Body Shop, L'Oreal cosmetics as well as Maybelline have such lip colours. These lipsticks come in shades that are closer to the natural colour of lips than traditional lipsticks. So, you don't really need to wear it with lip liner or use a mirror when applying!
Another innovative make-up item is the pink-red "stain". First created by Benefit cosmetics (called Benetint), this liquid stain gives the look of glow and radiance, especially on the cheeks, as if you're blushing beautifully.
It can also be applied on the lips for a natural-looking red shade. Contained in a nail-polish-like bottle complete with a little brush applicator, this make-up "stain" is very easy to apply. Just place a drop of it on the cheeks or lips and smudge with your finger pads.
With such idiot-proof make-up there is no reason for anyone to look unflattering now. What's more, using these items do not require much time or talent at all.
